City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />January 7, 2025 <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1888, SERIES 2024 — AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE <br />LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADD A NEW CHAPTER 3.25 REGARDING <br />ENHANCED ASSISTANCE FOR TARGETED BUSINESSES — 2ND READING, <br />PUBLIC HEARING (advertised Daily Camera 11/24/24) - continued from 12/3/24 <br />(2:14:39) <br />Mayor Leh introduced the item and opened the public hearing. <br />Economic Vitality Manager Vanessa Zarate provided the staff report. <br />Several questions were asked by Council regarding the proposed ordinance. <br />Public Comment: <br />• Tamar Krantz <br />Council held a brief discussion on the proposed ordinance. <br />Public Comment: <br />• None <br />Council discussed the amended language as presented in the staff report. <br />Mayor Leh closed the public hearing. (3:39:30) <br />Councilmember Hoefner moved to approve the ordinance with amended language; <br />seconded by Councilmember Kern. <br />City Attorney Kelly read into the record the amended language: delete references to <br />Boulder County's targeted businesses and replace with capital intensive businesses; <br />under the recital section - the first and second recitals would be deleted; and section <br />3.25.03(L) - delete the definition for targeted businesses and replace with the following: <br />capital intensive business means a business that requires a large amount of up -front <br />investment in fixed assets such as land, buildings, machinery, tools or software to <br />produce goods or services. <br />Aye: Leh, Fahey, Hamlington, Hoefner, Cooperman, Kern <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Dickinson <br />2025 CITY OF LOUISVILLE LEGISLATIVE AGENDA (3:51:58) <br />Interim Deputy City Manager Muth presented the Staff Report. <br />
