Cultural Advisory Board <br />Agenda <br />November 12, 2025 <br />Page 2of3 <br />Square Park with the goal of connecting residents to their neighbors and <br />to helpful programs. Would like to see this event grow and is open to <br />ideas. <br />6. Chair Report (JR) — JR highlighted all that was accomplished this year, <br />thanking the board and City staff for all the effort that went into making <br />2025 a great success. Thank you for all the efforts, volunteering, and <br />sponsorship. Much was accomplished with an understaffed team — looking <br />forward to going into 2026 with a full board! Review of programs including <br />first time events — like the Annual Fiddle Contest. <br />7. Staff Report — Iris <br />a. 2025 Events Wrap Up <br />i. Trunk or Treat Recap - Great success, Relish said it was <br />their busiest Sunday ever. <br />ii. Trans Day of Remembrance — November 20 in Memory <br />Square Park, all are invited. <br />iii. Winter Fest - December 14 Gingerbread decorating and <br />ornament making; registration is full. <br />8. Planning for 2026 (cont.) — CAB/Iris <br />a. Event Sponsorship in 2026 - The board reviewed a draft <br />sponsorship document. The finalized document will be sent through <br />City Legal before the sponsorship program launches. <br />b. Performers/Artists for World Music Series and Summer <br />Concerts in the Park Selections — the board reviewed and agreed <br />on headliner selections for Summer Concert Series based on <br />previously submitted ranked choice voting. <br />9. 2026 Arts Grants — JR (Action Items) <br />a. Review attached documents <br />b. Ideas for updates to process — Board and staff agree to <br />emphasize the priority that individual artists will be given in <br />selection process during this year's Grants marketing. <br />c. Independent artist set aside — Board agrees to prioritize <br />independent artists without an official financial set aside <br />10. Event Proposal Presentations/Discussions from the Board <br />a. Lunar New Year Celebration (Reina) — Reina provided three <br />Dragon Dance organizations as a start to the research for this <br />event <br />b. Pride Celebration (Alexander) — Alexander suggested a quieter <br />event like a picnic paired with a craft activity for next year's Pride. <br />
