City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> January 18, 2011 <br /> Page 2 of 5 <br /> PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br /> Alan Sobel, 1408 Kennedy Avenue, Louisville, CO continued the filibuster, which he <br /> began on April 6 2010. The filibuster addressed his belief the City of Louisville <br /> protects the interests of large corporations and not the interests of its residents. He <br /> stated the City has not notified residents about the Cable Customer Bill of Rights. He <br /> noted Comcast acquired NBC Universal and will now own a large number of cable <br /> channels. <br /> Michael Menaker, 1827 W. Choke Cherry Drive, Louisville, CO explained there will be <br /> two events in February to raise rnoney for heat relief. The first event is the Heat Relief <br /> Dinner sponsored by the Blue Parrot Restaurant on Thursday, February 17. The second <br /> is "Savor the Favor," on Friday, February 11. Seven Louisville restaurants will donate <br /> 10% of the gross proceeds to the Senior Foundation. Those seven restaurants are: The <br /> Empire Lounge; Zucca; Lucky Pie, The Huckleberry, Tibet's; Old Santa Fe, and The <br /> Cactus Wheel. <br /> COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE <br /> AGENDA <br /> Mayor Sisk addressed the Consent Agenda and acknowledged Mark Persichetti, who <br /> was appointed to the Boulder County Resource Conservation Advisory Board. Mr. <br /> Persichetti voiced his appreciation for the opportunity to serve on the Board. <br /> Mayor Sisk explained the Council approved a contract with Tichlerbise to update the <br /> Impact Fee Study. He will appoint members to an Ad Hoc Committee to review the <br /> study. <br /> CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> City Manager Fleming reported on the following: <br /> The Ad Hoc Committee, mentioned by Mayor Sisk will be an Advisory Group, <br /> who will be asked to review the Impact Fees Study. This will be comprised of <br /> residents, builders and other interested parties. He anticipated the process will <br /> take a couple of months. <br /> The Point in Time Homeless Count will take place on the night of January 24 and <br /> proceed through the following day. This will be coordinated by Boulder County <br /> and will review the rate of homelessness in the County. In Louisville the Police <br /> Department will be coordinating the work. The goal is to educate and raise <br /> awareness for the homeless population. <br /> The final total for the number of materials checked out at the Louisville Public <br /> Library in 2010 was 517,985, which broke the previous record by 10 <br />
