Library Board of Trustees
Meeting Minutes
March 15, 2007

Following are the highlights of the presentation:

1) The population of Louisville is highly educated and aging, with a large
number of residents moving into their 50s and 60s. It is estimated that the
City will grow from its current 19,000 residents to 23,000 over the next 20
years. Approximately 1600 residential units comprise the total buildout in
that timeframe.

Approximately 10% of the new residential units are to be categorized as
affordable housing.

2) The Highway 42 revitalization plan encompasses residential and commercial
development. Markel Homes will begin construction on a 70-acre site near
South Boulder Road, east of Highway 42. A mix of housing types will comprise
the 350 residential units planned for this area.

The next phase of residential development will be on the west side of
Highway 42 near South Boulder Road, should begin in approximately 5 years.

Total buildout in these two areas is 720 residential units.

3) A primary focus of the Highway 42 revitalization plan is to accommodate a
light rail platform and support the transit corridor with residential and
commercial development. The City anticipates a moderate increase in
density in this area. Design considerations will reflect the downtown and
Louisville character.

4) The Colorado Technology Center is experiencing significant growth, with
many existing businesses building to expand their facilities in the area.
Currently there are approximately 13,000 employees in the CTC, with a
maximum at buildout of 21,000. There are still 2 million square feet
available for buildings.

5) The Sun Microsystems campus comprises 400 acres. Sun will likely maintain
some property and there will be a small residential development near the
hospital.

6) There is no additional area of "Big Box" development planned for Louisville.
If Home Depot or Lowe's were to close their locations at McCaslin & Dillon
roads, a big box retailer could locate there. This area is also slated for a bus
rapid transit (BRT) platform.

B. Bylaws Revision - Meeting Notices

Items 4 and 5 of the Board of Trustees Bylaws stipulate a minimum 24-hour notice
for public meetings. The City's Open Records requirements now stipulate that
notice of public meetings be posted at least 72 hours prior to the meeting. These
items will be changed prior to the next meeting.
