Today, the putting s <br />contaminated with annual bluegrass (Poa annua). Annual bluegrass <br />which very aggressively establishes itself at the lower cutting <br />Unfortunately, annual bluegrass is not shade tolerant, heat tole <br />hardy. This results in a patchwork pattern of grasses and, with <br />irrigation issues, results in a high risk of turf loss due to bo <br />stress. In general, the greens are adequately sized and have a cient number of areas <br />to cut a cup. Based on our visual review, the greens appear agr <br />from xing a few relatively minor issues with the greens, we wo <br />of the putting surfaces as a high priority issue at this time. <br />F & R <br />AIRWAYSOUGHS <br />L <br />ike most public golf courses in Colorado, the existing fairways, <br />Creek were originally grassed with Kentucky Bluegrass (Poa prate <br />fairways have been contaminated with both annual bluegrass (Poa <br />bentgrass (Agrostis palustris). This, again, results in a patch <br />makes consistent playing conditions and turf management dif cult. By reducing shade and <br />with proper aeration and irrigation, one can create a healthy en <br />the proliferation of Kentucky Bluegrass. However, without recon <br />of the fairways, there <br />will continue to be an <br />increased risk of turf <br />loss due to winter <br />injury and summer <br />heat stress. Short term <br />improvements should <br />include regular aeration <br />and improved irrigation <br />coverage.
