City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> December 6, 2011 <br /> Page 3 of 14 <br /> • <br /> CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> City Manager Fleming reported on the following: <br /> • Candidates for Ward I vacancy will be interviewed on Wednesday, December 7, <br /> 2011, beginning at 5:30 p.m. <br /> • The 42/Gateway Website provides background information on the project. It <br /> examines pedestrian connection to the downtown area, a better connection from <br /> the east side of Louisville and a gateway into the City. <br /> • Mr. Sobel's comments relative to the Cable Television Franchise Agreement <br /> process. Due to Mr. Sobel's efforts, Comcast now provides notification of <br /> channel lineup and rate changes on their monthly bill. The City has suspended <br /> PEG fees until the CCTV is compliant with the requirement for Louisville <br /> residents on the Board of Directors. City Manager Fleming explained he spent <br /> two and a half hours with Mr. Sobel trying to resolve his issues with the City. <br /> Those issues spanned over eight years ago. City Manager Fleming requested <br /> Mr. Sobel respond to his email. <br /> REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> PRESENTATION — LOUISVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL (LMS) UPDATE <br /> Adam Fels, Principal of Louisville Middle School thanked the Mayor, City Council and <br /> staff for their support. He thanked the Louisville Police Department for the School <br /> Resource Officers Program. He invited everyone to the LMS and Louisville Police <br /> Department Winter Slam Basketball Game and Toy Collection on Thursday, December <br /> 1 5tn at 4:00 p.m. He noted the Louisville Middle School and the all volunteer Louisville <br /> Fire Protection District have also entered into a very successful partnership and <br /> participated in the 9-11 Event. He stated LMS conducted a fund raiser and will present <br /> a check for over$2,000 to the Louisville Fire Chief. <br /> RESOLUTION No.82, SERIES 2011 — A RESOLUTION APPROVING A BUSINESS <br /> ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT WITH WESTCON GROUP NORTH AMERICA, INC. FOR <br /> THE OCCUPANCY OF EXISTING VACANT SPACE AT 363 CENTENNIAL <br /> PARKWAY IN THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE <br /> Mayor Muckle requested a Staff presentation. <br /> Economic Development Director Star reported Council action was requested on an <br /> Economic Development Business Assistance Package (BAP) for Westcon Group North <br /> America, Inc. (Westcon). Westcon is a multi-national corporation specializing in <br /> technology and currently located in Lafayette and occupies office space near Exempla <br /> hospital in Lafayette.
