Commission Staff Report dated October 13, 2011, the Louisville Planning Commission has <br /> recommended the City Council approve the amendments to the LMC set forth in this ordinance; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, City Council has reviewed the recommendation of the Louisville Planning <br /> Commission, and desires to amend the LMC; and <br /> WHEREAS, City Council has provided notice of a public hearing on said ordinance by <br /> publication as provided by law and held a public hearing as provided in said notice; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> Section 1. Subsection C of Section 17.12.050 of the Louisville Municipal Code is <br /> hereby amended to read as follows (words to be deleted are shown in Wit; words to be <br /> added are underlined): <br /> Sec. 17.12.050.Yard and bulk requirements; Old Town overlay district. <br /> C. Design and slope of roof <br /> The predominant roof shall be a hip/ridge design and shall not be a shed roof or <br /> other design. The minimum roof pitch for the predominant roofs on both principal <br /> and accessory structures shall be 6:12. A "predominant roof' is one having a <br /> surface area that exceeds more than 80 percent of the total surface area of all roofs <br /> .. <br /> slope of the roof, or the angle which is formed between the roof and the horizontal <br /> plane <br /> 1. 80% of the roof surface area of all roofs on each structure on a <br /> property must have a pitch of 6:12 or greater. <br /> 2. The roof pitch that constitutes more than 50% of the roof surface area <br /> shall be considered the existing roof pitch. Additions to existing <br /> homes where the existing roof pitch is less than 6:12 shall be exempt <br /> from the requirements of subsection C.1. Such additions shall <br /> continue the existing roof pitch, or may have a lesser roof pitch as long <br /> as no more than 20% of the entire structure, including addition, has a <br /> roof pitch less than the existing roof pitch. <br /> 3. Additions to existing homes which remove and rebuild 50% or more <br /> of the existing roof must meet the requirements of subsection C.1. <br /> 4.
