<br />Horticulture & Forestry <br />Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />Thursday, December 1, 2011 <br />Library Meeting Room <br />951 Spruce Street <br /> 7:00 <br />PM <br />I.Call to Order—Chair Mike Frontczak called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm. <br />II.Roll Call—Board members present: Shelley Alm, Mike Frontczak, Kimberly <br />Heestand, Meredith Preston-Eddy, Theresa Rounds, Matt Tepe, Ellen Toon. Staff <br />member present: Dean Johnson. City Council member present: Susan Loo. <br />III.The agenda was approved by all members. <br />IV.The minutes from the September 22, 2011 meeting were approved. <br />V.Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda—No public present. Mike announced <br />that the presentation by a member of the Louisville Sustainability Advisory Board, <br />which was originally scheduled for the November HFAB meeting, will be rescheduled. <br />Regarding status of Steel Ranch entryway landscape plans, Theresa commented that the <br />decision has been made to use the State Street maple, along with a turf area, and red <br />switchgrass for the ornamental grass selection. <br />VI.GMO discussion—According to Dean, there are currently no GMO crops within <br />Louisville city limits. Louisville shares eight hundred acres with Boulder County, <br />which could be affected by the County’s upcoming decision whether to allow GMO <br />crops on county land.
