He stated Mr. Sobel is making statements, which <br /> are not true and noted many issues he has brought forward to the City were corrected. <br /> CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> City Manager Fleming thanked the Louisville Municipal Employees who work to provide <br /> services to the public, 24-7 on weekends and holiday, including the Streets, Waters, <br /> Police, Recreation and the Public Library. He voiced his appreciation to retiring Public <br /> Works Director Tom Phare for his dedicated 25-years of service to the City of Louisville. <br /> He voiced his appreciation to the City Council for giving staff the leadership to <br /> administer the programs and services given to the public. <br /> Mayor Muckle also thanked retiring Public Works Director Phare for his dedicated <br /> service to the City. <br /> • Public Works Director Phare thanked the City for sponsoring his retirement party, which <br /> afforded him the opportunity to visit with co-workers and friends, past and present. He <br /> stated he and his family most enjoyed the event. <br /> REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> PRESENTATION — STARBUST AWARD FROM COLORADO LOTTERY FOR THE <br /> MEMORY SQUARE LANDSCAPE RENOVATION PROJECT <br /> Mayor Muckle requested a Staff presentation. <br /> Parks and Recreation Project Manager Kron introduced Matt Robbins, from the <br /> Colorado Lottery. She explained The City of Louisville is being awarded a Starburst <br /> Award for the Memory Square Landscape Renovation Project completed in 2010. This <br /> was the first project using Colorado Lottery funds to update existing City parks and <br /> facilities. She reviewed the highlights of the project as follows: Improvements included <br /> landscaping around the new park entry sign, renovation of the horseshoe pits, removal <br /> of the old shuffleboard court and replacement with new sod, landscape renovations <br /> around the shelter, and new bike racks. Another highlight of the project included the re- <br /> use of historic brick from the former 1932 Water Treatment Plant Building, which was <br /> • torn down in 2008. <br />
