BRaD <br />Meeting Summary <br />January 11, 2011 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />Hank Dalton moved to <br />post a BRaD agenda at the following locations: City Hall (749 Main Street), the <br />Recreation/Senior Center (900 West Via Appia), the Police/Municipal Court Building (992 West Via Appia), <br />the Library (951 Spruce Street), and on the City’s web site at www.louisvilleco.gov. Motion seconded by <br />Chris Pritchard, passed unanimously. <br />RETENTION MEETINGS: <br />AMI – Advanced Medical Imaging – <br /> Dana and Scott R conducted this visit. The site is one of <br />several around the state. It is a service center with expenses machines paying use tax. No <br />problems cited. They are happy with location. <br />Front Porch Digital <br /> – Dana and Rob conducted this visit to a company in CTC. The company <br />transfer data from tape to disk, mostly for federal government clients. <br />NexGen Storage <br /> – Dana and John Benedetti visited them in the Centennial Valley. About 50 <br />employees and growing. They received $10 million of venture capital last fall. <br />RedShift <br /> – is a small start up located on South Boulder Road. They approached Meredyth Muth, <br />Chris Browning and Bonnie regarding their concept of voice recognition. They use avatars on <br />websites to facilitate the acquisition/location of website information. Because of competition from <br />Apple’s similar iphone capabilities, Chris suggested they market to communities who must address <br />a federal mandate regarding ADA access. <br />PRESENTATION BY SAM BAILEY <br />, Global Business Development Specialist of the State Office of <br />Economic Development and International Trade <br />. <br />Sam presented a PPT show with information on two OEDIT programs: Colorado First (training grant) and <br />Colorado Companies to Watch (recognition program). The Committee members asked questions. <br />Because the next speaker, Matthew DeBartolomeis was delayed by traffic and weather conditions, <br />we adjusted the agenda to hear the following 2 items: <br />UPDATE ON INTEGRATED INFRASTRUCTURE IMPLEMENTATION PLAN, LOUISVILLE <br />FASTRACKS STATION AREA AND HIGHWAY 42 CORRIDOR (Planning Department): <br />Troy Russ, Planning and Building Safety Director, gave an update on this project <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UPDATE <br />– Bonnie Star noted the packet contained the 2012 Open <br />Government Pamphlet <br /> She noted the owner of the Grain Elevator site is intending to submit for a demo permit. <br />They are still open to a sale, but have been delaying for almost 2 years and need to move <br />this along. <br /> John Frazee of Gravity Brewing has submitted a BAP request for a brew pub in the <br />American Legion building. <br /> A BAP for 100-mile Mercantile (Tony Renfrow) for a store with local goods, food, etc. was <br />approved by Council on Jan 3. <br /> Big Lots closing this week.’ Tim’s Trains doing well in new location. Wants some of the <br />shelving. <br /> <br />
