Cultural Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />August 16, 2012 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />• Art Director position works for the City to work with arts programs and the <br />councils work under them. <br />• Update on communications request. There are five (5) SCFD organizations <br />in Louisville to advertise in city calendar and website and get out posters. <br />• Planning for Council Study Session <br />Keep question to the City. — Can LCC add events in City calendar in <br />December so we can advertise all SCFD in calendar or more space for LCC? <br />VII. Treasurer's Report 1 Grant Updates <br />The treasurer's report was not available for the meeting. See attached report. <br />CIC grant will be reviewed August 21St. <br />SCFD Grant — has not been awarded yet but will probably receive $1500; usually <br />awarded in October. <br />Vlll. City Council Update - Council Member Frost Yarnell reported that nothing has <br />been decided for the Grain Elevator which the city does not want to own. The <br />exact determination for its use has not been identified. Nothing has been <br />decided for the Safeway shopping center or the Sam's Club as of yet. <br />Frost stated the way to get recognition for LCC member's support is from the <br />Mayor through Kathy and/or Julie. They should talk to Mary-Beth. <br />IX. Event Reports <br />• Wet Paint Sale — LAA put on the event, LCC earned $490. Sold three or four <br />pieces. Susan <br />• 16 T -shirts have been sold. Need to inventory. <br />X. General Discussion /Brainstorming <br />• Consulting for Sculpture Garden Project - Susan made a motion for a request <br />for proposal from John Kinkade consultant (probably $3500) to help create <br />the vision for Louisville. Justine seconded the motion. All approved. <br />• Field Trip for Sculpture Garden Project. <br />• Planning for Study Session: One percent for Arts? Arts Administrator? <br />• Support Old Town Cinema provided the LCC is able to provide the <br />Steinbaugh Pavilion for free. Brett made the motion. Paul seconded the <br />motion. All approved. <br />• Donate $200 to the Old Town Cinema if Steinbaugh Pavilion is free. Susan <br />made the motion. Brett seconded the motion. All approved. <br />Susan made a motion for a request for proposal for a consultant (probably <br />$3500) to help create the vision for Louisville. Justine seconded the motion. <br />All approved. <br />
