that we have committed to and some of the additional services that the Housing Authority is providing <br />the City of Louisville. <br />Frank said there are two parts to discuss: <br />Housing and Human Services advisory committee of which Louisville Council gets to appoint a <br />member to bring back to the next meeting for their approval <br />provide the comprehensive perspective of how we are serving low income and vulnerable individuals <br />within the city of Louisville <br />the liaison will have to be dealing with all of those issues and also bringing them from the City of <br />Louisville into the County decision making process <br />Kelly said she if the duties were not more than she could handle, it is definitely something she would consider. <br />Heather would take a recommendation from this board to Council for approval. There would be a couple of <br />opportunities throughout the year to meet with City Council to discuss issues. <br />Ernie volunteered to be a backup or alternate. <br />Additional updates from Frank: <br />- we were awarded tenant based rental assistance vouchers to assist St. Vrain and Boulder Valley school <br />district's homeless youth <br />two case managers started this past week and will be working with McKinney -Vento in the schools to <br />provide rent assistance, serving 25 households in each school district <br />we have almost fully leased up the 50 Family Unification Program vouchers families who are at risk of <br />out of home placement for their kids <br />we still have some vouchers available for youth who are aging out of care <br />Willa gave a VASH update: <br />VASH (Veterans Administration Supportive Housing for Homeless vets and their families) vouchers are <br />going very quickly <br />we are excited to welcome a VASH voucher holder to Josephine Commons <br />the VA is seeing so much demand in Boulder County that they are in a position to advocate for us to <br />potentially get more of this resource . <br />Frank said between those 3 programs you have 125 additional housing units that are out there in the community <br />supporting people who are vulnerable. With the Housing Stabilization program, you have helped about 1400 <br />families over the last four years. We have been very pleasantly surprised by the VASH program and are grateful <br />to the community partners for helping us get that. <br />The other thing is the need for additional heat assistance for seniors. Within HHS we have a number of direct <br />subsidy and supportive programs for energy and rent assistance targeted for vulnerable seniors. It was intimated <br />that it was difficult fund raising for those needs in Louisville. If that's the case, call me and we can talk through <br />how those needs can be met. <br />Diane said she is not seeing that, as there are adequate funds for senior heat assistance. <br />Discussion of Agenda Items for next 2012 LHA board meeting: September 25th at Sunnyside. <br />- Transfer processes <br />- We will bring the bylaws and some draft comments next month <br />- Bring the updated report <br />- Finalize the HHS Board liaison to County <br />Meeting adjourned at 9:15 a.m. <br />6 <br />
