• <br />Horticultural & Forestry Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />February 2, 2006 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />Dave Clabots asked for the opinion of members regarding the encroachments of <br />gardens, trees and shrubs on Open Space. Scott Robson discussed the <br />development/exploration of policy regarding community gardens. General <br />discussion was held about the encroachment of activities on the Open Space <br />property and how the City could approach the issue. <br />IX. Arboretum Planning <br />(1) City Council Meeting <br />Continued to March Board meeting. <br />(2) Fundraising <br />Fundraising will be continued to the March meeting and included as part of <br />the Goals Setting agenda item. <br />(3) 2006 Projects <br />Projects, for 2006 will be continued to the March meeting and included as <br />part of the Goals Setting agenda item. <br />X. Forestry Ordinance <br />Susan provided update on her presentation to the City Council on the portion of <br />the change in the ordinance that amends HFAB procedures. <br />XI. Open Government Charter Amendment <br />Training will be March 6 and March 10, 2006. <br />One item is that HFAB is to post the by -laws at its place of meeting. Chris will <br />provide the copy that is to be posted. Second is that the HFAB is to elect a <br />Chairman and Secretary for the Board at the beginning of each year. Final <br />reading of the proposed changes to the Forestry Ordinance is scheduled for the <br />Tuesday February 7 City Council meeting to be held in the evening. <br />XI I. McCaslin /Hwy. 36 Interchange <br />Chris has received the RTD Highway 36 intersection plan and expressed a <br />favorable opinion. Chris will send the plans to HFAB members. <br />XIII. Gateway Signage, Landscaping, Management and Redesign <br />There are no funds available for projects this year. This item is to be included in <br />the topics for the Goal Setting agenda item at the March Board meeting. <br />XIV. Horticultural and Forestry Advisory Board Award <br />Susan continues to work on this initiative. No material presented. <br />
