Louisville City Council Meeting <br />May 2, 2001 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Ae <br /> <br />Approval of Bills <br />Approval of Minutes (04/17/01) <br />Award Bid - 2001 Concrete Replacement Project <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Chris Bonner, 157 S. Washington Avenue, Louisville, addressed the issue of <br />overcrowding in Louisville. He stated that he is a Monarch High School student and has <br />lived in Louisville for three years. He observed that the issue of overcrowding is a real <br />concern. He stated that restaurants, stores and theaters in Louisville are all overcrowded. <br />He stated that he also observes overcrowding in his school. He asked that Council <br />consider this issue when planning future developments. He thanked Councilmen, Mayer, <br />Brown and Sisk for taking time from their busy schedules to assist him in a government <br />school project. <br /> <br />Mayer congratulated Chris Bonner on his school project. He stated that Chris asked <br />many thoughtful questions of the Council members. Mayer commended Bonner for his <br />interest in the government process. <br /> <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br /> THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Davidson thanked the 846 voters who participated in the Special Home Rule Election. He <br />congratulated the winners of the Home Rule Charter Commission. Davidson reported that <br />Councilmen, Brown, Sisk, and he were elected to serve as members of the Commission. <br />Davidson announced that his position as Mayor would prevent him from being <br />considered for chairman of the Home Rule Charter Commission. <br /> <br />Sisk thanked everyone that voted in the Special Election and the 29 candidates who took <br />the time and effort to participate in the process. Sisk also thanked the City Clerk and her <br />staff for conducting the election. He voiced his opinion that the election was conducted in <br />an orderly fashion. <br /> <br />City Clerk Nancy Varra announced that pursuant to Section 31-10-1207 - Recount of the <br />Colorado Revised Statutes, she will conduct a recount of the May 1, 2001 Special <br />Election on the Home Rule Charter Commission and of the members who will serve on <br />that commission. She stated that the date would be Thursday, May 3, 2001 at 1:00 p.m., <br />in the City Council Chambers. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
