RESOLUTION NO.5
SERIES 1995

A RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF COMMERCIAL PASSENGER
AIRLINE SERVICE AT THE JEFFERSON COUNTY AIRPORT.

WHEREAS, public reports state that, Centennial Express Airlines has asked the Jefferson County
Airport Authority permission to start a regularly scheduled airline shuttle from Jeffco
Airport to service several destinations in Colorado and other states; and

WHEREAS, such airline service would increase air traffic and related noise in the airport departure
and landing zones, and

WHEREAS, the northwest aircraft departures and landings are routed over Louisville including
residential developments, and

WHEREAS, Jeffco Airport commercial aircraft departing and landing from the north would fly over
thousands of residents of Louisville and other northwest suburban communities, and

WHEREAS, proposed scheduled commercial passenger flights would provide convenience to the
flying public, but at the expense of Louisville residents' quality of life, and

WHEREAS, not only does this affect the airspace but also will increase the ground traffic as well,

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Louisville City Council that:

1. The Louisville City Council opposes the establishment of scheduled commercial passenger
airline service at the J etferson County Airport and encourages the Jefferson County Airport
Authority and the Jefferson County Commissioners to oppose such a proposals as well.

2. The Louisville City Council requests the Airport Authority Board of Directors and their Statfto
advise and consult Louisville of any future negotiations or discussions on any proposed
scheduled commercial passenger service.

PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of March, 1995.

-r;;:., -p~~/

Tom Davidson, Mayor

ATTEST:

~~~
