Copies
of the amended page were distributed to Council prior to the meeting.

Davidson moved that Council approve the September 18, 2001 minutes as amended,
seconded by Sisk. Sisk noted that the people he walked with were all appreciative of
the South Boulder Road underpass. Many felt the underpass improved the safety of their
children and they wished to convey their thanks to Council.

Mayer stated that while riding his bike home down 76th Street between Baseline Road
and South Boulder Road, he noticed that Xcel Energy is just now in the process of
installing the power poles. Mayer stated that Storage Tek was informed that the power
poles in their area would be installed in the late fall or early winter. Mayer questioned
why there was such a push to have this project approved to accommodate the summer
peak season, when upgrades are just now underway. Mayer stated that the citizens who
opposed the power lines were told that once the installation of the substation at
Intedocken was completed, the line would be protected the following year. Mayer
requested that staff direct a letter to Xcel Energy requesting an explanation on these
matters, and why Council was misled.

Davidson suggested that a letter also be sent to the PUC, since Xcel Energy also
presented them with the same information.

Brown reported that he a citizen contacted him and suggested that the City display
patriotic decorations. Brown asked that the City staff coordinate with the DBA or other
organizations to put up American flags along Main Street.

2
