<br />ORDINANCE NO. 1171 <br />SERIES 1994 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6.02.010 OF THE LOUISVILLE <br />MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING THE DEFINITION OF "RUNNING AT <br />LARGE." <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 6.12.010 of the Louisville Municipal Code <br />prohibits dogs from running at large within the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that an exception <br />should be made which permits the City Council to designate certain <br />open space areas where dogs may run when accompanied by an owner; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the adoption of this ordinance is necessary for the <br />protection of the public health, safety and welfare. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> <br />Section 1. Section 6.02.010.H of the Louisville Municipal <br />Code, as enacted by Ordinance No. 1085, Series 1992, is amended by <br />the addition of a new paragraph 5. as follows (words to be added <br />appear in capital letters): <br /> <br />6.02.010. Definitions <br /> <br />H. Running at large. An animal which is otherwise <br />prohibited by this title from "running at large" <br />shall be deemed to be "running at large" when it is <br />not restrained as follows: <br /> <br />1. When upon the premises of the owner, the <br />animal must not be able to enter upon public <br />property, including sidewalks or public <br />rights-of-way, or the premises of another, and <br />must be contained within or restricted by a <br />fence or other means secured by an adequate <br />locking device. <br /> <br />2. Any dog off the premises of the owner must be <br />attached to a leash. <br /> <br />1 <br />
