He stressed that Louisville is a remarkable City and the Police Department
receives the support of the Council and community.

Public Works Director Tom Phare explained that a Denver TV station recently reported
that four communities, including Louisville had high chlorine levels in their drinking
water. Phare assured Council and the community that the Water Department has checked
and double-checked the testing of the water and finds nothing to support the claim of
high chlorine levels in the drinking water in Louisville.

REGULAR BUSINESS

MUNICIPAL JUDGE APPOINTMENT

Davidson called for the Legal Committee's recommendation on the appointment for
Municipal Judge.

Sisk reported that the City Council Legal Committee, comprised of Council members
Levihn, Brown and Sisk, interviewed eight candidates for the Municipal Judge position to
fill the vacancy created when John Stavely was appointed to the Boulder County Court.
He noted that all the candidates were very highly qualified. He stated that it is the
recommendation of the committee that Council appoint Bruce Joss as Municipal Judge.
He stated that Joss has been a practicing attorney in Louisville for a lengthy period and
has distinguished himself in the community and in the County. He noted that Joss was
the number one candidate of the Legal Committee and stated that it was the
recommendation of the Legal Committee that Bruce Joss be appointed as Municipal
Judge.

2
