D. The tap fee for co:mmerci~l NON-RESIDENTIAL uni ts shall be determined by the city and shall be based upon the provisions of the Uniform Plumbing Code then in effect and Table B of Section 13.12.040. E. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS CHAPTER, "RESIDENTIAL UNIT" MEANS A SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING UNIT OR MULTI- FAMILY DWELLING UNITS, INCLUDING CONDOMINIUMS, TOWNHOUSES, AND APARTMENTS; AND "NON-RESIDENTIAL UNIT" MEANS ANY UNIT OTHER THAN A RESIDENTIAL UNIT. Section 2. Subsection A of Section 13.12.030 is repealed and reenacted to read as follows, and Subsections Band C of Section 13.12.030 are amended to read as follows (words to be deleted are stricken through; words to be added appear in capital letters) : 13.12.030 Tap fee for residential units -- Table A A. FOR RESIDENTIAL UNITS, A REDUCTION IN THE NUMBER OF FIXTURE UNITS USED, AS SET FORTH IN TABLE 10-1 OF THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, OF UP TO THIRTY PERCENT (30%) MAY BE ALLOWED IN THE REASONABLE DISCRETION OF THE CHIEF BUILDING OFFICIAL UPON SUBMITTAL OF DOCUMENTATION ESTABLISHING THE USE OF LISTED "LOW FLOW" OR ENERGY EFFICIENT PLUMBING FIXTURES. B. If the applicant for a water tap permit desires a larger size tap than is required by reference to THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE AND TABLE B T~bleo ~ ~nd B, the fee to be charged shall be the minimum fee for the size tap desired. C. In the event a consumer desires to provide automatic fire-control protection for his premises and such emergency service only, which requires a tap larger than three-fourths of an inch, the fee charged shall be based only on the demand set forth in THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE AND NFPA 13D AND NFPA 13R T~ble ~ for that item, without regard to the minimum and maximum fees set forth in Table B of Section 13.12.040. Under this provision the user shall be required to pay the full cost of installation of the service, including all pipe, valves and valve boxes. Section 3.
