Louisville City Council Meeting <br />December 18,2001 <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />MOTION: Davidson moved that the City Attorney be authorized to proceed with the <br />Qwest Litigation settlement proPosal, seconded by Brown. All in favor <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER REPORT <br /> <br />City Manager Bill Simmons.reminded Council that the Working Design Committee, <br />consisting of two Council members and City Staff, will meet with the architect on the <br />results of the needs assessments for the public safety building. The meeting will be <br />Wednesday, December 19, 2001, at 7:30 a.m. at the Louisville Library. <br /> <br />Simmons reported that the Legal Committee will interview candidates for the Prosecuting <br />Attorney for the Municipal Court. The interviews are scheduled for Friday, December <br />21, 2001. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Keany commented that he has received requests from citizens that the City encourage <br />high-speed Internet providers to serve Louisville. He suggested that when the Cable <br />Television Franchise is renewed, Staff investigate alternative services. <br /> <br />Sisk reported that he had spoken to a representative from Qwest who stated that they <br />would come to a work session in February and discuss the issue of high-speed Intemet in <br />Louisville. He explained that Qwest is expanding their network and is aware of the <br />City's interest. He stated that the City need only contact them with a work session date. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br /> Sisk moved,' that'Co.kkr).cil adjourn (7:25 p.m.), seconded by Keany.
