D FasTracks <br />US 36 Bus Rapid Transit <br />2013 Fact Sheet <br />US 36 BUS RAPID TRANSIT AT A GLANCE <br />• US 36 Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is part of FasTracks, RTD's voter - approved plan <br />passed in November 2004 to expand transit service across the Denver metro region. <br />• The US 36 BRT Line includes 18 miles of service that connects Deriver Union Station <br />to Boulder, passing through Westminster, Broomfield, Superior, and Louisville. <br />• Six stations are part of the US 36 BRT Line: Westminster Center, Church Ranch, <br />Broomfield, Flatiron /96th St., McCaslin, and Table Mesa. Each station will offer <br />enhanced shelters with architecturally uniform canopies, state -of- the -art digital <br />customer information, and ticket vending machines. <br />PROJECT OVERVIEW <br />• The US 36 BRT project began in 2001 as part of the US 36 Major Investment <br />Study that included both BRT and commuter rail technologies. <br />• The US 36 Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) was completed with the release <br />of a Final EIS and Record of Decision in late 2009. <br />• The Phase 1 US 36 BRT project was the first FasTracks project to be completed. <br />The project included new bus pullouts and a pedestrian bridge at McCaslin <br />Boulevard (2006); new Park -n -Ride station and bus pullouts at Church Ranch <br />Boulevard (2007); and new Park -n -Ride station, bus pullouts and a pedestrian <br />bridge in Broomfield (2010). <br />• The Phase 2 US 36 BRT project is being constructed in partnership with the <br />Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and includes several BRT elements: <br />express lanes extension, station canopies, Programmable Information Displays <br />and the support infrastructure for the real -time bus arrival information. <br />• The extension of express lanes from Federal Boulevard to 88th Street, just west of <br />West Flatirons, is currently underway and is scheduled for completion in January 2015. <br />The extension of the express lanes from 88th Street to the Table Mesa Park -n -Ride is <br />expected to be completed in late 2015. <br />• Other components of the Phase 2 BRT project include the new Table Mesa pedestrian <br />bridge (scheduled for completion in March 2013); queue jumps (bus bypass lanes at <br />intersections) at Sheridan, Church Ranch, McCaslin, and Interlocken /96th; transit signal <br />priority at intersections; and new BRT vehicles. <br />US 36 BUS RAPID TRANSIT FAST FACTS <br />• Length (miles): 18 <br />• Vehicle Type: Bus Rapid Transit <br />• Stations: 6 <br />• Parking: 1,278 new parking spaces <br />• Frequency of Service: 4 -12 min (peak) /15 -20 min (off - peak), <br />depending on station <br />For more information or to request a presentation, call 303.299.2000 <br />Regional Transportation District <br />303.299.20001 rtd- denver.com <br />
