He stated that the Police Department handled the situation extremely well and <br />with compassion. He suggested that Council send a Get Well card to the young man. <br /> <br />Mayer stated that the helmet the young man was wearing saved his life. He noted that the <br />Police encourage safety issues and this was one incident when it did save a life. <br /> <br />Brown recognized eleven-year-old Louisville resident, Marett Haalland, who finished <br />10th in her division, at the National Snowboard Championship, in Mammoth Mountain, <br />California. <br /> <br />Brown reminded residents of the Recreation and Library needs assessments public <br />meetings, which will be held at each facility on Wednesday, April 03, 2002. <br /> <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1378, SERIES 2002 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />ARTICLE VI, SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 554, SERIES 1977, AS <br />AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 994, SERIES 1989, ORDINANCE NO. 1258, <br />SERIES 1977, AND ORDINANCE NO. 1296, SERIES 1999, TO EXTEND TO AND <br />INCLUDING MAY 10, 2004, THE ELECTRIC AND GASEOUS FUEL <br />FRANCHISE GRANTED BY THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO TO <br />PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY OF COLORADO - 2ua reading - public hearing <br />(advertised Daily Camera 3/09/02) <br /> <br />Davidson called for City Attorney introduction. <br /> <br />City Attorney Sam Light read Ordinance No. 1378, Series 2002. <br /> <br />Davidson opened the public hearing and called for Staff presentation. <br /> <br />Assistant to the City Manager Heather Balser explained that the 2-year extension of <br />Public Service Company's 20-year agreement, gas and electric franchise, expired on June <br />15, 2001. Ordinance No. 1378, Series 2002 amends the "Term Effective Date" of the <br />present franchise to May 10, 2004. She stated that Staff recommends approval of <br />Ordinance No. 1378, Series 2002, and noted that Public Service Representative Todd <br />Anderson is in attendance and available to address Council questions. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
