<br />"t <br /> <br />I 1"111 "II' 11'11' '1'1 I'll" 111'11'1"1 III "1'111'1 1"1 ~~ ,~~~;: :, <br /> <br />Boulder County Clerk, CO RESOLUTION R 11.00 D 0.00 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 34 <br />SERIES 2005 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE AUSTIN-NIEHOFF HOUSE AN HISTORIC <br />LANDMARK <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Council an historic landmark <br />application for the Austin-Niehoff House, located at 717 Main Street, on property legally <br />described as Lot 17 and the North Y2. of Lot 18, Block 5, Original Old Town Louisville, State of <br />Colorado; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Staff and the Louisville Historic Preservation Commission have <br />reviewed the application and found it to be in compliance with Chapter 15.36 of the Louisville <br />Municipal Code, including Section 15.36.050 (A), establishing criteria for landmark designation; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Louisville Historic Preservation Commission has held a properly noticed <br />public hearing on the proposed landmark application and has forwarded to the City Council a <br />recommendation of approval; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has duly considered the proposed landmark application <br />and the Commission's recommendation and report, and has held a properly noticed public <br />hearing on the application; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the building was constructed in 1878 and has not been significantly altered <br />since that time and is the oldest remaining example of a wood-frame cross gabled dwelling in the <br />City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the building has social significance because of its association with the <br />Austin-Niehoff family, whose members made significant contributions to the socio-economic <br />development of the City and served as civic leaders throughout the first half of the century; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that these and other characteristics specific to the <br />individual structure are of both architectural and social significance as described in Section <br />15.36.050 (A) of the Louisville Municipal Code and justify the approval of the historic landmark <br />application. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />~t!J <br />
