She explained that the
business registration ordinance is a follow-up to the sales tax ordinance, which requires
an annual fee of $25.00. The prior business license ordinance required an annual license
fee of $15.00. The revised ordinance changes this licensing process to a one-time
registration, expiring only if the business ceases operations at the same location or
ownership changes. There is no fee required. The intent is to register businesses that
maintain a physical business presence in Louisville. The purpose of the registration is to
maintain a database of the established businesses in Louisville to provide information to
the Planning Department, for review for code violations and the Police Department for
emergency contacts.

Keany asked if the business registrations will be listed on the City's Web Page. Ray
responded yes.
