Call to Order—Vice-Chair Theresa Rounds called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm. <br /> <br />II. Roll call—Board members present: Shelly Alm, Neal Griggsmiller, Erik Gustafson, Mark <br />Newland, Theresa Rounds, Ellen Toon, Beverlee White. Board member absent: Mike <br />Frontczak. Staff member present: Chris Lichty. City Council member present: Susan <br />Loo. Guest: Debby Fahey, Louisville resident. <br /> <br />III. The agenda was approved by all members. <br /> <br />IV. The minutes from the May 2, 2013 meeting were approved. <br /> <br />V. Public Comment on Items not on the Agenda—Debby Fahey stated that she is interested in <br />learning about the volunteer boards of Louisville, and is considering running for City <br />Council this fall. Theresa mentioned a possible collaboration with the Louisville Cultural <br />Council (using SCFD grant funds) to host a library talk or tree walk. The LCC chair will <br />be invited to attend an HFAB meeting in August or September to discuss ideas. Theresa <br />also commented on some landscape maintenance issues at several locations in Louisville, <br />including the formal garden at Community Park, the median near Carrabba’s restaurant, <br />and the grass on some medians being mowed too short. <br /> <br />VI. Cyclocross at Arboretum—Chris informed the board that the annual cyclocross event will <br />take place some time in June near the Arboretum. The riders usually use the drainage area <br />(cricket fields) to the east, and usually do not enter the Arboretum itself. <br /> <br />VII. 2013 Arbor Day review—tree planting event at Louisville Elementary was successful— <br />weather was good and classes and teachers were very engaged and attentive.
