City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />October 2, 2007 <br />Page 10 of 12 <br />MOTION: Mayor Pro Tem Bnown moved Council approve Resolution No. 52, <br />Series 2007, with the following amendments: <br />One Page 2, the eighth WHEI~EAS, be modified to read: WHEREAS, the City <br />Council has determined that 2A "may potentially mislead the citizens of Louisville <br />by implying" the City Council has relinquished planning, financial and other <br />control over potential development in the urban renewal area"; <br />One Page 2, the sixth WHERIEAS be modified to add at the end of the sentence, <br />the following words: "pursuant to the aforementioned resolutions"; <br />On Page 2, the last sentence be revised to read "The City Council of the City of <br />Louisville does hereby declare that it does not support Initiative 2A,striking the <br />phrase "of, and urges a NO vote for,"; <br />On Page 1, the title of the resolution be modified to strike "and urging a no vote <br />on Initiative 2A Ballot Issue". Council member Marsella seconded the motion. <br />MOTION: Council member Muckle moved to table the motion, seconded by <br />Council member Yarnell. Roll call vote was taken. The motion failed by a vote of <br />5-2. Council members Yarnell aind Muckle voted yes. <br />VOTE ON THE MAIN MOTION: Roll call vote was taken. The motion carried by <br />a vote of 5-2. Council membE:r l~'arnell and Muckle voted no. <br />RESOLUTION No. 54, SIERNES 2007 - A RESOLUTION APPROVING A <br />BUSINESS ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT WITH PROMOTECH RESEARCH <br />ASSOCIATES, INC. FOR'fHE OCCUPANCY OF NEWLY CONSTRUCTED <br />SPACE AT 1775 CHERRY STREET IN THE COLORADO TECH CENTER IN <br />THIE CITY OF LOUISVILLE <br />Mayor Sisk requested a presE:ntation. <br />Becky Hogan, EDge Consulting, 52 Steele Street, Denver, CO reviewed the <br />proposed economic development business assistance package (BAP) for the <br />Promotech Research Associates, Inc, which is an existing Louisville company <br />wishing to expand. She introduced Mr. Warren Merlino, Vice President and <br />Managing Director for Promotech Research Associates, Inc. <br />Mr. Merlino introduced his business partners and explained Promotech provides <br />consultative and integrated diistribution services within the pharmaceutical <br />industry for non-personal proimotion needs. The company has been in business <br />for eighteen years, and currenntly employs eighty people. They are currently <br />considering leasing approximately 96,797 SF of newly constructed space at the <br />Colorado Tech Center. <br />
