Open Space Advisory Board <br />Meeting Notes <br />August 14th, 2013 <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />Says, Skull ID and 20 Questions. There were 51 attendees. <br /> August 6th and 7th- Gazing at the Stars Astronomy Program hosted <br />by the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks had to be <br />rescheduled because of rain. New date: September 24th and 25th <br />at Davidson Mesa from 8:30-9:30 pm. <br /> The McCaslin underpass is under contract, for $1.3 million. The project <br />will begin at the end of the month. <br /> OSAB may want to consider what educational information will be <br />appropriate for the kiosk that will be installed at Harper Lake. <br /> There will be two lanes of traffic open on McCaslin during <br />construction. <br /> Open Space properties will be open to pedestrians. There will be <br />temporary closure of both parking lots and the dog off-leash area. <br />Once the construction schedule is determined staff will post <br />approximate closure dates. <br /> There are currently two information signs regarding the project. <br />Staff is planning on posting additional signs with minor revisions. <br /> The social trial at Davidson Mesa located on the ridge west of the dog off- <br />leash area will be improved, with construction starting next week. The <br />budget is $38,000 and the trial is approximately a 1/2 mile long. <br /> Upcoming fall projects include: Prairie dog work, weed control, <br />Damyanovich Management Plan, Coyote Plan and Open Space Zoning. <br /> New Trails Open House <br /> The staff liaisons for the Cultural Council and the Horticulture and <br />Forestry Advisory Board will hand out the Memo and Report Form <br />as a staff update. OSAB presentation will not be required. <br /> Ember will send out an email requesting dates that board members <br />are available to lead presentations. <br /> The Library Booth will be on September 18th - potential volunteers: <br />Tom, Laura, Helen, Alison and Linda. <br /> Recreation Center Booth will be on September 19th - potential <br />3
