Article II, Section 2 established there shall be a Chair, Vice-chair <br /> and Secretary and that they shall be elected either <br /> 1) At the first meeting in January, or <br /> 2) At the first meeting of the Commission after the effective date of <br /> appointment of new members of the Planning Commission. <br /> The Bylaws do not establish any formal process the Commission must follow in <br /> the election of officers. <br /> The January Planning Commission agenda includes a business item for the <br /> election of officers. The Commission has two options for completing the election <br /> of officers: <br /> 1) Complete the election of officers with nomination during the January 24th <br /> meeting or <br /> 2) Accept formal nominations and letters of interest that could then be <br /> considered at the February 14th meeting. <br /> If the Commission wishes to submit letters of interest or letters of nomination in <br /> advance of the February 14th meeting, staff could include those in your packets <br /> of that meeting. We would need to receive those by Friday, February 1, 2013 in <br /> order to forward them in your packets. <br /> 11 <br />
