Louisville City Council Meeting <br />December 3, 2002 <br />Page 8 <br /> <br />connection with that litigation, the City Attorney received direction from the City <br />Council regarding litigation strategy. <br /> <br />Mayor Davidson reported CoUncil member Mayer left the meeting at 8:24 p.m., and did <br />not participate in the discussions in executive session. <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> <br />City Manager Simmons asked Deputy City Manager Julie Boyd to update Council on the <br />progress of the City's RFP for trash removal and recycling. <br /> <br />Boyd reported that Staff met with contactors relative to trash and recycling RFP. The <br />Resource Conservation Advisory Authority is applying for a grant through Boulder <br />County for $10,000 to purchase 20 containers for recycling for land management. <br /> <br />Simmons asked Assistant City Manager for Governmental Relations Heather Balser to <br />reported on upcoming meetings. <br /> <br />Balser reported a meeting has been scheduled with Joe McGrath and Colorado <br />Department of Transportation (CDOT) for Monday, December 9, 2002, from 10:00 a.m. <br />to 12:00 p.m., at the Louisville Art Center. She reported a meeting has been scheduled <br />with RTD Directors Richard McLean and Mary Blue for the January 14, 2003 study <br />session. <br /> <br />Simmons reported on a letter the City received from AT & T Broadband, stating their <br />office in Louisville will close in December. He noted the Franchise Agreement requires <br />AT & T Broadband to maintain a local office. <br /> <br />Simmons informed Council of the closing for the Pine Street property, for the purpose of <br />open space acquisition, would be Wednesday, December 4, 2002. He noted the purchase <br />would add 1.6 acres to the City of Louisville inventory. <br /> <br />Simmons reminded Council on the special meeting, December 10, 2002 to approve the <br />2003 budget. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Davidson addressed the meeting with CDOT, and reminded Council <br />to ask the County Commissioners for their support of the improvements to the on and off <br />ramps at the Superior Interchange and the bus rapid transit lanes. <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br /> <br />
