He expressed his gratitude for living in Louisville and stressed the importance of keeping Louisville a great City. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT City Manager Fleming reported on the following items: • The City Manager received a call from Larry Halprin, who is owner of the business Safe Systems, in the CTC business park. Halprin complimented the Building Safety anti Inspection Department, the Planning Department and the Public Works Department. • He reported on receiving telephone calls and emails from citizens about the City's performance of snow removal. Some driveways were blocked and some sidewalks were covered. Public Works Director Tom Phare and the Public Works crews rE:medied the problems immediately. • The Shop Louisville Program has a web site, which provides a listing of Louisville shops, restauraints and businesses. The address is shoplouisvilleco.com. • The BRaD Committee discussed the budget for the Shop Louisville Program and will bring back a proposal for Council consideration. • The City Manager and several Department Directors met with the Lafayette Public Work:> Director to discuss their mandatory single trash carrier. The results were impressive; it reduced the cost of collection for the residents; the volume of trash going to the land fill; the wear and tear of the streets; the polluition and the noise; and increased the level of service and recycling. ~ThE; City will pursue contracting for a single trash carrier in the upcoming year. • The Parks and Recreation Director position has been advertised internally, and will be advertised externally after the holidays. • The City Manager met with Boulder County representatives relative to shared computer systems;. There was interest in shared GIS systems, and disaster recovery shared software. • Assistant City Manager Heather Balser was elected as the Chairperson of the Transportation Advisory Committee for DRCOG.
