He provided r~on-alcoholic Sparkling Apple Cider for those in <br />attendance after the City Council) meeting. He expressed his gratitude for living <br />in Louisville and stressed the importance of keeping Louisville a great City. <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br />City Manager Fleming reported on the following items: <br />• The City Manager received a call from Larry Halprin, who is owner of the <br />business Safe Systems, in the CTC business park. Halprin complimented <br />the Building Safety anti Inspection Department, the Planning Department <br />and the Public Works Department. <br />• He reported on receiving telephone calls and emails from citizens about <br />the City's performance of snow removal. Some driveways were blocked <br />and some sidewalks were covered. Public Works Director Tom Phare and <br />the Public Works crews rE:medied the problems immediately. <br />• The Shop Louisville Program has a web site, which provides a listing of <br />Louisville shops, restauraints and businesses. The address is <br />shoplouisvilleco.com. <br />• The BRaD Committee discussed the budget for the Shop Louisville <br />Program and will bring back a proposal for Council consideration. <br />• The City Manager and several Department Directors met with the <br />Lafayette Public Work:> Director to discuss their mandatory single trash <br />carrier. The results were impressive; it reduced the cost of collection for <br />the residents; the volume of trash going to the land fill; the wear and tear <br />of the streets; the polluition and the noise; and increased the level of <br />service and recycling. ~ThE; City will pursue contracting for a single trash <br />carrier in the upcoming year. <br />• The Parks and Recreation Director position has been advertised internally, <br />and will be advertised externally after the holidays. <br />• The City Manager met with Boulder County representatives relative to <br />shared computer systems;.
