Building Code Board of Appeals
Meeting Minutes
November 21, 2013
of how to approach the older mobile homes and if they would be grandfathered in
and the possible enforcement of an updated code. Berry stated there seemed to
have been a lot of research on the City Attorney's part in how to approach updating
the code and what it meant for how and when enforcement might be able to take
place. Geise asked if there have been any new mobile homes brought into the park
in the last three years other than the one which had a fire. Staff replied they haven't
seen any new homes in the last two years. Geise asked, with the passing of the
updated code, if staff would go through and require each home to update to the new
codes. Staff stated this would only apply to new homes, any work which would be
done to modify an existing home, or if the was a complaint regarding the structural
integrity of an existing home. Berry asked if the City Attorney has had a chance to
review the updates. Staff replied he had and he agreed with the updates. Berry
motioned and Mancuso seconded to approve the ordinance. Motion approved by all
members present.
DISCUSSION
Fall Open Government Training
Van Pelt and Tew were not present to give an update from the Fall Open
Government Training which was held on October 29, 2013.
2014 BCBOA meeting Schedule
Staff stated the meetings would follow the every other month with a tentative date of
July 8, 2014 for the Study Session.
