<br />RESOLUTION NO. 7 <br />SERIES 1992 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION REGARDING THE RETENTION OF THE EMPLOYMENT <br />BASE, PARTICULARLY THE NON-NUCLEAR OPERATIONS, OF ROCKY <br />FLATS TO THE EXTENT CURRENT PRODUCTS AND SERVICES ARE <br />IMPORTANT TO THE DEFENSE OF THE UNITED STATES, AND <br />REGARDING THE CLEAN-UP OF ROCKY FLATS. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there are approximately 190 citizens of Louisville <br />currently working for EG&G at Rocky Flats; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the spending by all workers at Rocky Flats generates <br />an additional 19,000 regional jobs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, EG&G spends approximately $216 million in Colorado on <br />goods and services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, spending by Rocky Flats workers yields approximately <br />$41 million in regional tax revenue, significantly supporting local <br />government. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> <br />That united states Representative David Skaggs, united States <br />Senator Timothy wirth and Senator Hank Brown be informed that the <br />citizens of Louisville, through its City council, desire to keep <br />the employment base, particularly the non-nuclear operations, of <br />Rocky Flats to the extent the products and services currently being <br />provided at Rocky Flats are important to the defense of the united <br />States, that the production of said products and services remain at <br />Rocky Flats, and that the clean-up of Rocky Flats continue. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of January, 1992. <br /> <br />$~~~ <br /> <br />, Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />a:\31\ 105 .lou <br />
