LOUISVILLE ARTS & HUMANITIES COUNCIL <br /> ' Special Meeting <br /> Meeting Minutes from November 24, 1991 . <br /> ATTENDING: John Hansen, Joanne Lyman, with Mary O'Brien substitut- <br /> ing as secretary and Carolyn Markham presiding. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE: Nancy Westergaard submitted her written resigna- <br /> ' tion from her position as a Director in the Louisville Arts & <br /> Humanities Council (LAHC) . She offered to complete the functions <br /> of the position of treasurer for the remainder of 1991 and submit <br /> the yearly financial statement by January 15, 1992, as a paid <br /> employee for the sum of $1.00. The Council voted to accept this <br /> proposal , provided that it is acceptable to the City, with a vote <br /> of 3 to 1, with Joanne dissenting. <br /> PROGRAM PLANNING: <br /> The committee recommends the following programs for 1992, keeping <br /> in mind that various council members will be heavily involved in <br /> building fund activities and will be unavailable for general <br /> Council projects. <br /> 1 . Producing a brochure or pamphlet about our group <br /> (Jan - Feb) <br /> 2. Southwestern textile or natural history exhibit incor- <br /> porating traveling exhibit, local talent, demonstrations, <br /> etc. , geared primarily toward visits from classes. <br /> John will check into possible exhibits. <br /> (Mar - April) <br /> 1 3. Art Calendar showcasing local art from both children and <br /> adults. Calendar would include dates of local events. <br /> Funding would be requested from a CCAH grant and local <br /> ' businesses. Calendar could be given to people who <br /> contribute to the building fund or the LAHC. They could <br /> also be distributed free by businesses or sold, depending <br /> upon the amount of support we receive for the project. <br /> (May - Aug) <br /> 4. One Labor Day performance scheduled after the parade on <br /> Monday. (Music or something for kids) <br /> (May - Aug) <br /> 5. Piano recital involving students of local piano teachers <br /> scheduled for early November. <br /> (Sep - Nov) <br /> 6. Young Artists Exhibit featuring selected artworks from <br /> art teachers in local schools, scheduled to coincide with <br /> the Parade of Lights in early December. <br /> (Nov - Dec) <br /> 11 <br />
