Discussions/Decisions <br /> <br />Introduction of Jean Morgan: Jean has a proposal for the Cultural Council <br />to create a Pocket Park. The Northwest Corner of Highway 42 and Pine, <br />there is an old coal car, and it would be interesting to do something to <br />restore that coal car and make the park a <br />City of Louisville. Discussion ensured regarding the feasibility of restoring <br />the old coal car and putting a statute in front of it. Ms. Morgan was <br />thanked for her idea and this proposal will be placed on a future agenda <br />for discussion. Ms. Morgan was asked to provide any information about <br />interested parties who might be recruited to assist in this project providing <br />either time or money to help create this park. <br /> <br />John Kinkade has made a recommendation through his consulting <br />company to create a public arts policy. <br /> <br />Another interesting project suggested was on Lee Avenue, by Spruce, <br />east of the railroad tracks. There are two (privately owned) <br />cabins that were built by Emmett Trott in the 1930s. Discussion ensued <br />regarding whether the Cultural Council could assist in preserving these <br />cabins. John provided his contact information as 970-667-2015, <br />john@columbinensg.com <br /> <br />Introduction of Liz Rowland Ms. Rowland is interested in volunteering <br />and helped at the Amelio Trio event. <br /> <br />VIII. City Council Update Ashley Stolzmann <br /> <br />The Old Louisville Inn is landmarked with a substantial grant of $250,000. <br /> <br />The Lanterns development in Steele Ranch was approved. <br /> <br />BHA affordable housing is planning on making $1million improvements. <br />They will be building on the north end of town. <br /> <br />BVSD made a report to City Council about LES. Many of the citizens in <br />Louisville expressed their concern about overcrowding at LES. There is a <br />plan to send a letter to the school board voicing those concerns. <br /> <br />Another report was made about consideration of international fire and <br />building codes. <br /> <br />
