The Board voted to thank <br />Janis Kieft, Horticulturalist, Botanical Interests, who presented the <br />program, with a $50.00 gift certificate from Noodles. Beverlee White <br />will write the thank you note; Ellen Toon will buy the gift certificate <br />and present both. <br /> <br />VI.Review Council communication for 2014 Study Session (May 27). The <br />Board reviewed the draft PowerPoint that Mark Newland had created and <br />distributed. <br />items to emphasize are Bathroom(s), Signage, and Xeric garden renovation. <br />Neal Griggsmiller recommended (and the Board agreed) that the landscape <br />plan should be included, and the landscape plan should also be mounted on <br />an 18 x 24 board to be passed around to the Council members. Discussion <br />th <br />followed with recommendations to mention that 2014 is the 20 anniversary <br />of the Louisville Arboretum, and include the 2014 Arbor Day tree planting, <br />the Ribbon Cutting celebration for the dedication of the pergola, the Emerald <br />Ash Borer event, the upcoming tree pruning demonstration at the <br />Arboretum, and the potential collaborative event with the Cultural Council. <br />Minor changes to the draft PowerPoint were recommended: review the <br />background color, emphasize the need for a bathroom, and add meaningful <br />picture(s) at the end captioned by <br />we just can't hold it anymore!!!" The Board, <br />Susan Loo and fine work on <br />PowerPoint presentation, and his landscape plan. All Board members are urged <br /> <br />to attend the Council Study Session. <br /> th <br />VII. <br />Arbor Day is scheduled for 4/17 with plantings at 12:15 and 2:30. 5 graders <br /> <br />(Firestone Elementary) will participate. <br /> <br />VIII. <br />The HFAB/Arboretum page on the City website is still under construction. <br /> <br />IX. <br />The Xeric Demonstration Garden Design was discussed during the PowerPoint <br />TreeAzin to <br />presentation. EAB treatment was discussed.
