Louisville Sustainability Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes:Wednesday, May 21, 2014 <br />City Hall, 749 MainStreet,SpruceRoom <br />I. Call to Order:The meeting was called to order at 6:31pm by Chair David Hsu. Meeting Minutes <br />taken by Justine Vigil-Tapia. <br />II.Roll Call: (Members presentin bold): Jim Bradford, Mary Ann Heaney(via Skype), David <br />Hsu, Claudia Lenz, Mark Persichetti; Justine Vigil-Tapia; Staff Liaison Dave Szabados; City- <br />Council Liaison Ashley Stolzmann. In attendance was Tom Brophy, Zero Waste Director for <br />Louisville Street Faire, Angie Layton, Community Garden Committee Member. <br />III.Approval of Current-Meeting’s Agenda: The agenda was approved with one amendment. <br />Ashley’s Minute was added to the Public Comments section. <br />IV.Approval of April Meeting Minutes: The minutes from theApril 16 meeting wereapproved as- <br />is. <br />V. Public Commentson Items Not on the Agenda: <br />Tom Brophy - Street Faire and Farmers Market will be conducted as zero-wasteevents. Top is <br />reviewing the set-up logistics with Western Disposal. Volunteer recruitment is also underway. <br />Ashley’s Minute – Update on Council activities(added to agenda) <br />City is reviewing parking study and implementing some actions. Parking Committee to bring <br />rd <br />recommendations to city council on June 3. <br />Daytime and evening parking options still being evaluated. <br />Police stepping up enforcement this summer. Curb (actually painting on ground) painting has <br />already started. <br />Waste contract reviewed at counciland additional analysis is needed; follow-up review to <br />occur in next meetingi.e., service offering, unit price. There is significant community support <br />for Western. <br />rd <br />The Ward I council vacancy will be filled on June 3. <br />Smart Street Lights Presentationfor LSAB? Yes, but at a future meetingthat is TBD. <br />Vacant board seat on LSAB now. Mayor/Council can do a mid-term appointment. <br />VI.Community Gardens Update <br />th <br />Preparing for June 10Study Session meetingwith council. <br />LSAB work and citizens perspective (Angie) to be presented to council. LSAB members are <br />encouraged to attend session and support this initiative. <br />Mary Ann has some questions under review with the Planning department. <br />Costs – water tap and changes to curb area. Goal - seek grants from GoCO.
