L City of <br />Louisville <br />COLORADO • SINCE 1878 <br />Louisville Sustainability Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes: Wednesday, July 16th, 2014 <br />City Hall, 749 Main Street, Spruce Room <br />I. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by Claudia. Mary Ann took <br />minutes. <br />II. Roll Call: (Members present in bold): Jim Bradford, Mary Ann Heaney, David Hsu, <br />Claudia Lenz, Mark Persichetti; Steve Justine Vigil- Tapia; Staff Liaison Dave Szabados; <br />City - Council Liaison Ashley Stolzmann. <br />III. Approval of Current - Meeting's Agenda: The agenda was approved. <br />IV. Approval of June Meeting Minutes: Minutes were approved with two revisions. <br />V. Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda: <br />None <br />VI. Baseline Energy Study Update <br />The grad student who worked with Dave on the study presented the report in the Council <br />Study Session. He fielded many comments and questions. Some questions he could not <br />answer because of his unfamiliarity with Louisville. He will make final changes to the report <br />in response to comments. Council indicated that it expected recommendations from LSAB <br />for follow -up to the report. <br />VII. Sustainability Roadmap Updates <br />• Resources - Mark said that he had incorporated the changes suggested at last <br />months meeting. <br />• Energy - Jim said that he and David met with an employee of an energy - consulting <br />firm who lives in Louisville who agreed to participate in their committee. "They talked <br />about some stuff." Jim said he thought it would be interesting to know what portion <br />of Excel's energy reduction was contributed to Louisville. David said that considering <br />cost, benefits, and public opinion would lead them to a goal of getting businesses <br />and citizens behind the effort. <br />• Localization - Justine reviewed the roadmap summary she forwarded and was <br />attached to the agenda. Her group had established objective and scope of the topic. <br />She read the definition of localization they had created as well as the definition of <br />objective. They are developing goals that take programs further than what currently <br />exists; e.g. waste, recycling. Making the objective broader was discussed. Looking <br />for opportunities to reinforce these principles in code, zoning, etc. was mentioned. <br />Justine said it was difficult determining how to avoid confusing people with the <br />overlapping topic areas; e.g. localization of energy, transportation.
