APPROVAL OF BID AWARD - 1996 ARBORETUM PLANTING PROJECT
APPROVAL OF BID AWARD - 1996 FALL TREE PLANTING PROJECT
AUTHORIZATION TO CHANGE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING OF TUESDAY,
NOVEMBER 5TH (ELECTION DAY) TO WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 1996

PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA

Rob Scott, 946 Arapahoe Circle, Louisville, Colorado, Director of Tennis at the Ranch Country Club
in Westminster, on the Board of the Centennial Valley Tennis Association, requested that funding for
two new tennis courts be reinstated in the 1997 Capital budget because of the need for more tennis
courts in Louisville.

Davidson explained that section of the budget had not been reviewed yet and it would be taken under
advisement.

David Waldmen, 905 East Riverbend Street, Superior, Colorado, stated that he and his wife would
like to open a bed and breakfast in Louisville. They had spoken to Paul Wood, Planning Director,
and were informed this week that due to the busy schedule of the Planning Commission, the bed and
breakfast proposal would not be advanced to Council nor to the Planning Commission. With the
dramatic growth in Louisville he understood the manpower limitations. He acknowledged that this
is a small project requesting a disproportionate amount of the City's resources compared to the
eventual financial gain to Louisville. He spoke of the asset a bed and breakfast would be to Louisville
and how small family owned businesses are equally important to maintaining the charm of any
community. He requested Council's opinion of having a bed and breakfast in Louisville and if they
would direct the Planning Commission to move forward on the necessary revision as their time
constraints ease next year. They wanted to make a contingent offer on a home at 255 Continental
View Drive relating to their ability to obtain approval from City Council for this site as a limited two
bedroom bed & breakfast. It is a 9,400 s.f home on four acres at the end of Continental View Drive
on the ridge overlooking Boulder. The bed & breakfast would be named "A Room With A View."
They would require a special use permit and modification to code to allow a bed & breakfast.

Davidson stated that he would read Waldmen's letter and discuss this with the City Administrator
who will get back with him.

John Buri, 186 West Monarch Court, Louisville, Colorado, on the Board of Directors for the
Centennial Valley Tennis Association, former captain of the U.S.T.A. adult league team and the
men's single team, commented that they had also sponsored a women's team, had the third annual
Louisville Open put on by the c.v.T.A. using the City's public courts and Rock Creek courts. There
were 134 players, 33 of which were members of their organization, with 166 events. He wanted
lights put in at the courts at the recreation center, hopefully by 1998. He asked Council to approve
the two courts at the recreation center.

2
