L
Cityof
Louisville
COLORADO • SINCE 1878
VIII. HFAB Tree Pruning Demonstration and Tree Identification event is scheduled for Saturday,
Oct. 4, 2014, 10 am, at the Louisville Arboretum Chris Lichty, City Forester, and Eric Gustafson,
US Certified Arborist of the Patriot Tree Company, Louisville, will present the program. Shelly
Alm volunteered to create the flyer; Beverlee White will post the event in the Daily Camera, and
the Colorado Hometown Weekly. Board members will help distribute flyers.
IX. All members of HFAB who had attended the Brass in the Park event at the Louisville
Arboretum, on August 28, sponsored by the Louisville Cultural Council, deemed the event a
success. In spite of rain prior to 6 pm, approximately 100 attended. The setting was beautiful and
the weather clear for the duration of the concert. Thank you to Susan Honstein for initiating and
running the collaborative `arts and arboretum' event. (It was noted by all that there is a serious
drainage issue in and around the pergola.)
.X. Discussion items for next meeting on Thursday, October 2: 1. Tree Pruning Demonstration
and Tree Identification program on Oct. 4t'. 2. Report from the Board of the Friends of the
Louisville Arboretum meeting and discussion of future Arboretum fundraising projects.
XI.
