Open Space Advisory Board
Minutes
October 8th, 2014
targeting open space purchases for areas that are forecasted for increased property density
development.
6) Mike suggested we need to be more proactive about land acquisition (e.g. planning for
where we need land acquisition). He recommended including open space elements into
comprehensive planning, and including trail connections in "small area"
planning. Christopher suggested having an open space acquisition master plan, so that
when dedications are proposed, the board is prepared to respond.
7) OSAB should make recommendations for the Conoco - Phillips 66 parcel. This might
require obtaining permission for the board to tour the property.
8) Ember suggested that city staff members who are working on issues that touch on open
space issues (such as planning) should come to OSAB meetings.
9) Linda suggested including budgeting consequences of zoning decisions.
XII.
