City of Louisville Policy Survey
August 2009
preferred a new residential building use tax (60%), followed by a new transportation fee and a new
consumer use tax (38% and 38%,respectively).
Voters responding to the survey were asked how much,if any, of a property or sales tax increase
they would be willing to vote for. About 4 in 10 respondents said they would not be willing to vote
for a property or sales tax increase (38% and 39%,respectively). About one-third of respondents
said they would be willing to vote for the smallest tax increase— 1.0 mill of property tax and 1/8%
sales tax. Fewer respondents were willing to pay the other tax increase amounts.
U
N
N
U
i)
N
N
O
Z
0
N
N
O
Report of Results
3
