Louisville Historical Commission <br />Minutes <br />November 5, 2014 <br />C. A new owner has taken over the restaurant business in the old Rex movie theatre <br />building and is planning for a new name for the restaurant, with implications for the <br />Rex building signage. <br />D. It was reported that the owner of the Empire restaurant applied for a demo permit on <br />the Empire restaurant sign. <br />XIII. Discussion /Direction /Action: Pioneer Award (to be presented January 2015) <br />A. Pioneer Award selection. The Louisville Historical Commission voted to select Dick <br />DelPizzo as the recipient of this year's Pioneer Award. <br />B. Dave Ferguson will be the Louisville Historical Commission member to arrange for <br />the plaque, present the award at the Chamber of Commerce banquet, and help write <br />the Pioneer Award piece for the next Louisville Historian. <br />XIV. Louisville History Foundation update <br />A. Lynn Koglin met with Shelley Angell from the Louisville Chamber of Commerce to <br />discuss ideas for potential directors for the Louisville History Foundation. <br />B. Dan reported that the Louisville History Foundation has completed a website. This <br />new website allows people to pay for memberships online. <br />C. The Foundation is asking for logo designs from a Monarch High School class to <br />consider adopting for its logo. <br />XV. Commission comments & discussion items for next meeting: The item about the <br />Acme Mine signage was continued to the next meeting. <br />XVI. Close meeting & adjourn. The Louisville Historical Commission meeting adjourned at <br />8:40 pm. <br />4 <br />
