To receive
those funds it was determined that
the library itself is located in
the 100 year flood plain of Coal
Creek. The Federal regulations
that govern the grant money
required that the city hold a
public hearing whereby the citizens
that benefit from these funds could
perhaps suggest a more appropriate
use for the funds other than using
the funds in the flood plain.
Mayor Fauson opened the public hearing.
Mayor Fauson asked if there was anyone that would like to address
this issue for or against? None.
Mayor Fauson closed the public hearing.
Sackett moved that there is no
practical alternative to putting
the elevator in the library in the
100 year flood plain and given the
public hearing and there was no
negative feed back that we indicate
to the state that we wish to pursue
our application, seconded by
Hornbostel. Motion passed 7-0.
