EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION
AWARDS Stahl explained that a Quarterly Employee
Recognition Award Program began in late 1988. The
names of 15 employees were submitted to the
Committee of their peers for review. Based upon
the criteria approved by the employees, Donna
Cummings, Executive Secretary for the Department
of Community Development, and John Millen,
Maintenance Worker III for the Department of
Community Services are this quarter's recipients
of the Employee Recognition Award. They will
receive a certificate of recognition and a check
for $100. Their names will be placed on an
Employee Recognition plaque in City Hall. Mayor
Fauson presented each of them with their
certificate and $100 check.
Anderson and Sackett abstained from participating in any action on the next
Agenda Item due to possible conflict of interest.
RESOLUTION #2, SERIES 1989 - PARTIAL RELEASES FOR GOLF COURSE
EASEMENTS Read by title only, Resolution #2, Series 1989, "A
Resolution of the City Council of the City of
Louisville designating the "City Representative"
to act on behalf of the City under the Golf Course
Lease Purchase Agreement, the Ground Lease
Agreement, and the Mortgage and Indenture of
Trust."
Stahl explained that adoption of Resolution #2 is
necessary prior to the City granting easements
through the golf course property. The procedure
to obtain partial releases from the various leases
and Mortgage and Indenture is not complicated but
does require the City's Representative to make a
request to the Louisville Building Authority and
to the Central Bank Trustee. This Resolution will
allow the City Administrator to be the City's
Representative.
Mayor Fauson moved and Ferrera seconded to Adopt
Resolution #2, Series 1989. By Roll Call Vote the
motion passed 4-0-2 with Sackett and Anderson
abstaining.
RESOLUTION #3, SERIES 1989 - IN SUPPORT OF
W-470 Stahl explained that the W-470 Authority drafted a
resolution in support of the imposition of an
annual $10 fee for motor vehicle registration to
provide for the start-up and supplementary funds
needed to construct this segment of the beltway.
The Authority is asking that Council adopt
Resolution ~3, Series 1989 in support of this fee
which will go to the electors of the City of
Louisville on February 7, 1989.
2
