Ferrera moved and Sackett seconded to adopt <br />Ordinance #993, Series 1989. By Roll Call Vote, <br />the motion passed 6-0. <br />tiWARD BID - 1989 SANITARY <br />PROJECT <br />OTHER: <br />SEWER <br />Phare explained that on Tuesday, April 25, the <br />Public Works Department received bids for the 1989 <br />Sanitary Sewer Project to replace sewer lines <br />which have failed or no longer function properly <br />causing excessive maintenance costs. The work <br />includes replacement of a sewer line on Jefferson <br />Street from Lafayette Street approximately 200 ft. <br />north. The second project is replacement of an <br />existing manhole and five feet of sewer pipe <br />located on Walnut Street between Jefferson Street <br />and Grant Street which has failed. Staff is <br />requesting Council award the bid to Twin Peaks <br />Excavating for Schedule 1 and 2 of the 1989 <br />Sanitary Sewer Project in the amount of <br />$15,937.20. <br />Mohr moved and Ferrera seconded to award the bid <br />of $15,937.20 to Twin Peaks Excavating for <br />Schedule 1 and 2 of the 1989 Sanitary Sewer <br />Project. Motion passed 6-0 by Roll Call Vote. <br />DENVER POST ARTICLE ON AVAILABILITY OF WATER IN <br />gETRO AREA Stahl referred to an article appearing the Denver <br />Post regarding Louisville and several other cities <br />being the most prone to drought conditions if in <br />fact Two Forks was not built. Stahl stated that <br />the data that was used in the Denver Post article <br />was 1980 data. Since that time, the City has <br />acquired more than 1,000 a.f. of water and own in <br />excess of 5,000 a.f. of water and are well ahead <br />of water current demands are. <br />COMMENTS IN THE LOUISVILLE TIMES REGARDING THE <br />CITY'S AUDITORS With respect to articles that have appeared in the <br />Louisville Times with regard to the City's 1988 <br />Audit, Stahl requested that Bondi & Co provide the <br />City with a clarification regarding debt and the <br />complexity of the audit. That information has <br />been forwarded to Council and the media. Bondi & <br />Co is more than happy to meet with anyone to help <br />them understand the City's financial condition and <br />explain the findings of the audit. <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS: Residents John Leary, Jane Monson, Susan Morris, <br />Jeff Nicholson, Kathy Fletcher, Pat Hornbostel, <br />Margaret Hornbostel, Elizabeth Nick, Alan <br />Gallagher, John Riley, Ken Wilson, Cecelia Wilson, <br />and Kathy Janes each spoke to Council with their <br />6 <br />
