possible that one could be
installed.

Jerry Gallo, 1249 Kennedy Avenue, Louisville, Colorado, stated that
the Louisville Youth Baseball Association, commonly referred to as
Jeffco, is in the process of scheduling the fields for their home
games. They play half of their games away from Louisville. For
their own needs, they have 17 teams this year, up three (3) teams
from last year, which equates to about 153 home games, given that
each age group plays approximately nine (9) home games. They have
60 days to accomplish this schedule. If one superimposes upon all
of the home dates that they need fields for, a couple of practices
a week for each team, they're looking at around 453 time slots at
a field. On top of that, if inclement weather comes, it's
complicated even more. He stated that anything the City could do
for them (youth sports) in the way of more ballfields or lighted
ballfields, as quickly as possible, would be greatly appreciated.

Dale Johnson, 1801 Fillmore Court, Louisville, Colorado, felt that
it was very important that the City put lights on these fields,
because it doubles the amount of use and is a lot cheaper than
having to build additional unlighted fields.

Bob Tofte, 1417 Courtesy Road, Louisville, Colorado, Vice-President
of the Centaurus Little League, agreed with Jerry Gallo's comments.
He stated that he had coached soccer for 11 seasons and felt it
would be great if Louisville had a multi-use facility. He was
interested to see what could be done to mitigate the disruption of
a three (3) block neighborhood that's north of Griffith Street and
south of South Boulder Road, between the railroad tracks and Hwy.
42. He felt it would be horrendous t© see access on Griffith
Street.

John Houkal, 1444 Fillmore Place, Louisville, Colorado, sent a
letter (SEE ATTACHED), which was read by the City Clerk.

Davidson called for Council comments and questions.

Mayer:

How much of a danger would gas wells
be here and how much of that should
be a concern in siting the field?

Phare:

Obviously, they can't be near the
field of play. I would have some
concern, if they were located within
the facilities that the City were to
own long term.

Annette Brand, City Administrator, stated that the County does not
have a map that shows where the wells are located. She stated that
Ron Stewart is going to see if he can help us get entry to the oil

14
