TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL FROM: MALCOLM FLEMING CITY MANAGER DATE: APRIL 22, 2008 SUBJECT: UPDATE/DISCUSSION -DRAFT CITIZEN SURVEY ORIGINATING DEPARTMENT: CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE SUMMARY: Please find attached a draft of the Citizen Survey prepared by National Research Center, (NRC) and staff. The survey was compiled based on the 2004 survey to allow for trend data regarding opinions about Louisville services and then a number of policy questions as suggested by City Council and senior staff. However, the survey is limited to 5 pages to ensure that participants remain willing to complete the survey. If it is too long, it will go out in the trash). Thus, a number of questions we would like 'to ask are not in the draft as a result of limited space. Representatives of NRC will be at the April 22 study session to discuss the survey instrument. Specifically, Shannon Hayden and Laurie Urban will be attendance representing NRC.
