Miller stated that in trying to reduce the budget, they identified
the $40,000 that made up the playground line item going directly to
the Enclave park. He explained that it could be reconsidered.

Howard noticed that $1.1 million disappeared for the expansion of
the Recreation Center.

Miller:

That's incorrect. The $90,000 that
is identified in the combined
Capital Improvements for the
expansion of the Recreation Center
in '94 is an expansion of the pool.
We threw in, when we were preparing
this, the $500,000 and the $600,000
figure, because it has been
discussed among staff that at some
point they need to do further
upgrades to the Recreation Center,
or further expansions.

Steve Baysinger, Parks & Recreation Director, (INAUDIBLE).

Howard:

I want to make perfectly clear that
it does not include (INAUDIBLE)

Miller:

When you look into the future of '97
and '98, we haven't really
solidified anything, as to what
would happen at the Rec Center.

Howard:
Miller:

(INAUDIBLE)

It's certainly something that could
be added in. The fund balances show
that.

Sisk wondered how the $1.1 million reduction in the ballfield
complex was arrived at.

Baysinger:

(INAUDIBLE)

Mayer stated, concerning the transportation planning, that he had
gotten a letter from Bill Fraser expressing concerns about
transportation planning along McCaslin. He felt that Fraser raised
some good points, such as in the PUD plans they tend to get little
pieces of what the transportation corridor will look like past a
particular development. He felt that it should be looked at from
what's going to happen from U.S. 36, all the way to South Boulder
Road, along McCaslin. Mayer felt it would be useful if it were a
transportation plan that incorporated particular emphasis on Dyer
Road and how bicycle traffic would be accommodated throughout the
region, as this all develops. He asked Tom Phare, Public Works
