the feasibility of adding on to this particular <br />building to the sout;h or adding buildings on Main <br />Street to accommodate the library and ultimately a <br />third structure for the police department. Stahl <br />suggested that it would also be appropriate at <br />this time to do market studies to determine to <br />what extent the citizens of Louisville would <br />support a recreation center and the available <br />dollars that could ]be anticipated from user fees <br />and how that would be supplemented by general fund <br />revenues. Stahl stated that a preliminary budget <br />suggests that it would take approximately $30,000 <br />to accomplish this task within the next 120 days <br />and is requesting that Council authorize staff to <br />expend this money from Council's Contingency Fund <br />which was budgeted for $203,211 this year and <br />there is currently a balance of $116,000. <br />Franklin provided slides to show Council existing <br />needs in the downtown area for improvements and <br />streetscaping. <br />Carnival moved to expend $30,000 from Council's <br />Contingency Fund for the purpose of studying these <br />additional Capital Improvement Projects with a <br />final recommendation coming to Council in 120 <br />days. Sackett seconded.
