05/19/87 <br />have to be contracted and does exceed the amount <br />($5,000) for which staff is allowed to negotiate. <br />Mayor Fauson moved that the Public Works <br />Department be authorized to obtain bids for the <br />boring of a 12" waterline under Highway 42. <br />Mohr seconded. Unanimous. <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS None. <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE <br />REPORTS Mohr asked Krisko if he would update Council on <br />the condition of the Cemetery with the Memorial <br />Day weekend approaching. Krisko stated that <br />sodding is beginning today and a full time <br />Cemetery custodian has been employed. The <br />Cemetery will be nicely groomed by the weekend. <br />Krisko also related that DRCOG notified him today <br />that the City's application for a grant for <br />equipment at the Senior Center has been given <br />recommendation foz• approval by the Advisory <br />Committee to the Executive Council to be <br />considered for final approval on June 3rd. The <br />money will be usedl to buy a refrigerator, garbage <br />disposal, tables, chairs, cabinets and VCR. <br />Anderson stated that there was a County Consortium <br />meeting held in Broomfield last week. An Open <br />Space Workshop has been scheduled for June 27th, <br />for staffs, councils and anyone else interested in <br />attending covering all aspects of open space, <br />i.e„ .funding, dedication on .annexation, <br />maintenance and care, acquisition, etc. Anderson <br />asked that anyone :interested contact him for <br />additional information. <br />Sackett commented ion problems at McCaslin and <br />Dillon Road with grass being too tall in the <br />medians creating difficulty with seeing oncoming <br />traffic. Krisko stated that the medians have now <br />been cut. There was a problem in the establish- <br />ment of buffalo grass and tulip bulbs. The grass <br />did not establish, nor did the tulip bulbs bloom. <br />A different type oiE planting needs to take place <br />and Homart and staff are looking into that. <br />Sackett stated that: it is his opinion that the <br />medians were built too high and that should have <br />been determined prior to construction. With that <br />concern, Sackett asked that the issue be looked at <br />carefully. <br />Mayor Fauson stated the CML Executive Board, of <br />which he is a member, met to discuss the <br />11 <br />
